We are located at UBC's Okanagan Campus in the beautiful BC interior city of Kelowna.  

The campus is situated on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Syilx Okanagan Nation. 

 

We are based in the Biology Department on the second floor of the Arts and Science building.

  • The Osei Lab is currently at capacity and is not accepting new students or trainees at this time.

  • In exceptional circumstances, however, we may consider candidates whose interests and experience closely align with our research program.

  • In those cases, we are particularly interested in creative, motivated, and passionate students with a strong track record in cell biology, biochemistry, bioengineering, biomedical sciences, or related disciplines.

  • Prospective graduate students should contact Dr. Osei before applying.

  • Following an initial discussion, formal applications are submitted through the UBC Okanagan College of Graduate Studies.

Undergraduate Opportunities

  • Due to space constraints, the Osei Lab is currently at capacity, and undergraduate research positions are not generally available.

  • In exceptional circumstances, inquiries from highly qualified students with a strong academic record and clear alignment with our research program may be considered.
     

  • During the academic year, undergraduate research positions, when available, may take the form of Honours thesis, Directed Studies, or volunteer research placements.
     

  • Summer research opportunities are primarily dependent on successful funding through competitive programs such as the IKB Faculty of Science Undergraduate Research Award (URA), NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA), or other funding mechanisms.
     

  • Students should contact Dr. Osei only if they meet the criteria above and wish to determine whether an opportunity may be available.
